About the Warriors Medal of Valor
A Tribute to ALL Veterans from the Native American Nations of the United States...

In the year 2002 the Creator gave Marshall Tall Eagle Serna a vision that the American Indian Nations would present a special medal to all Veterans and Military Personnel.

Mr. Serna labored for about six months working on the design and the name for this medal. His beautiful wife Lauretta became his artistic advisor.

When they finally came up with the design and name, they contacted a major military medal manufacturer.

They wanted about $1000.00 to manufacture the first 100 medals. A few days after they talked with the manufacturer it was decided that they would manufacture the medal without any up front fees. They stated that this medal was beautiful and that they could see the value it would have to the Tribes.

At the first medal presentation, at a Pow Wow in Salem Oregon, Mr. & Mrs. Serna presented 55 medals. Directly after the ceremonies many of the medal recipients told Mr. & Mrs. Serna of their emotional feelings they had as a result of this beautiful ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. Serna soon realized that the medal has two emotional sides to it. First the patriotic one and the second a Spiritual side from our Creator. They also found that the affects of this special ceremony has a healing power especially for Veterans who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Mr. and Mrs. Serna have traveled all over the United States conducting this very special medal ceremony in a very American Indian Christian way. The ceremony is awesome.

As a member of the Northwest Indian Veterans Association from the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde in Oregon and the designer of the “Warriors Medal of Valor” Mr. Serna was dispatched to a annual conference for the National Congress of the American Indians, to submit a resolution to make the medal their official medal.

After much opposition the resolution unanimously was approved as the official medal for presentation to all tribes desiring to use this medal to pay tribute and honor to all Veterans and Military personnel regardless of their cultural background.

Mr. and Mrs. Serna now have various Government agencies asking them to conduct this special ceremony knowing the ceremony includes prayers to the Creator.
